King James Bible - Exodus 27:16

And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

World English Bible

For the gate of the court shall be a screen of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the embroiderer; their pillars four, and their sockets four.

Douay-Rheims - Exodus 27:16

And in the entrance of the court there shall be made a hanging of twenty cubits of violet and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen, with embroidered work: it shall have four pillars with as many sockets.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Exodus 27:16

Verse 16. And for the gate of the court] It appears that the hangings of this gate were of the same materials and workmanship with that of the inner covering of the tabernacle, and the outer and inner veil. See chap. xxvi. 36.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 9-19 - The tabernacle was enclosed in a court, about sixty yards long an thirty broad, formed by curtains hung upon brazen pillars, fixed i brazen sockets. Within this enclosure the priests and Levites offere the sacrifices, and thither the Jewish people were admitted. Thes distinctions represented the difference between the visible nomina church, and the true spiritual church, which alone has access to God and communion with him.
