:13; 17:17; 21:6,7 Ps 126:2 Lu 1:18-20,34,35 Heb 11:11,12

SEV Biblia, Chapter 18:12

Se rió, pues, Sara entre sí, diciendo: ¿Después que he envejecido tendré deleite? Así mismo mi señor es ya viejo.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Genesis 18:12

Verse 12.
Sarah laughed] Partly through pleasure at the bare idea of the possibility of the thing, and partly from a conviction that it was extremely improbable. She appears to have been in the same spirit, and to have had the same feelings of those who, unexpectedly hearing of something of great consequence to themselves, smile and say, ""The news is too good to be true;"", see chap. xxi. 6. There is a case very similar to this mentioned Psalm cxxvi. 1, 2. On Abraham's laughing, See note on ""chap. xvii. 17"".

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 9-15 - Where is
Sarah thy wife? was asked. Note the answer, In the tent. Jus at hand, in her proper place, occupied in her household concerns. Ther is nothing got by gadding. Those are most likely to receive comfor from God and his promises, who are in their proper place, and in the way of their duty, Lu 2:8. We are slow of heart to believe, and nee line upon line to the same purport. The blessings others have from common providence, believers have from the Divine promise, which make them very sweet, and very sure. The spiritual seed of Abraham owe their life, and joy, and hope, and all, to the promise. Sarah thinks this to good news to be true; she laughed, and therefore cannot as yet find it her heart to believe it. Sarah laughed. We might not have thought ther was a difference between Sarah's laughter and Abraham's, ch. 17:17; but He who searches the heart, saw that the one sprung from unbelief, an the other from faith. She denied that she had laughed. One sin commonl brings in another, and it is not likely we shall strictly keep to truth, when we question the Divine truth. But whom the Lord loves he will rebuke, convict, silence, and bring to repentance, and if they sin before him.
