King James Bible - Jeremiah 15:19

Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.

World English Bible

Therefore thus says Yahweh, If you return, then will I bring you again, that you may stand before me; and if you take forth the precious from the vile, you shall be as my mouth: they shall return to you, but you shall not return to them.

Douay-Rheims - Jeremiah 15:19

Therefore thus saith the Lord: If thou wilt be converted, I will convert thee, and thou shalt stand before my face; and if thou wilt separate the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: they shall be turned to thee, and thou shalt not be turned to them.

Webster's Bible Translation

Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou shalt return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou shalt separate the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return to thee; but return not thou to them.

SEV Biblia, Chapter 15:19

Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR: Si te convirtieres, yo te convertiré, y delante de mí estarás; y si sacares lo precioso de lo vil, serás como mi boca. Conviértanse ellos a ti, y tú no te conviertas a ellos.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Jeremiah 15:19

Verse 19. If thou return] By repentance unto me,] Then will I bring thee again] Restore thee to thy own country. But some think the words are spoken to the
prophet in reference to his ministry. He had greatly repined because of the persecutions which he endured. The Lord reprehends him, and is about to take from him the prophetic gift; but exhorts him first to take the precious from the vile-not to attend to the deceitful words of the people, but boldly declare the message he had given him; not to return unto the people, but let the people return unto him. And then he should be as God's mouth- his words should appear to be what they were, the genuine words of God; and the people should be obliged to acknowledge them as such.
Matthew Henry Commentary
The
destruction of the wicked described. (Jer. 15:1-9) The prophe laments such messages, and is reproved. (Jer. 15:10-14) He supplicate pardon, and is promised protection. (Jer. 15:15-21)

Jer. 15:1-9 The Lord declares that even Moses and Samuel must have pleaded in vain. The putting of this as a case, though they shoul stand before him, shows that they do not, and that saints in heaven d not pray for saints on earth. The Jews were condemned to differen kinds of misery by the righteous judgment of God, and the remnant woul be driven away, like the chaff, into captivity. Then was the populou city made desolate. Bad examples and misused authority often produc fatal effects, even after men are dead, or have repented of their crimes: this should make all greatly dread being the occasion of sin in others.

Jer. 15:10-14 Jeremiah met with much contempt and reproach, when the ought to have blessed him, and God for him. It is a great an sufficient support to the people of God, that however troublesome their way may be, it shall be well with them in their latter end. God turn to the people. Shall the most hardy and vigorous of their efforts be able to contend with the counsel of God, or with the army of the Chaldeans? Let them hear their doom. The enemy will treat the prophe well. But the people who had great estates would be used hardly. All parts of the country had added to the national guilt; and let each tak shame to itself.

Jer. 15:15-21 It is matter of comfort that we have a God, to whose knowledge of all things we may appeal. Jeremiah pleads with God for mercy and relief against his enemies, persecutors, and slanderers. I will be a comfort to God's ministers, when men despise them, if the have the testimony of their own consciences. But he complains, that he found little pleasure in his work. Some good people lose much of the pleasantness of religion by the fretfulness and uneasiness of their natural temper, which they indulge. The Lord called the prophet to cease from his distrust, and to return to his work. If he attende thereto, he might be assured the Lord would deliver him from his enemies. Those who are with God, and faithful to him, he will delive from trouble or carry through it. Many things appear frightful, whic do not at all hurt a real believer in Christ __________________________________________________________________
