SEV Biblia, Chapter 19:28
Por cuanto te has airado contra mí, y tu estruendo ha subido a mis oídos; por tanto yo pondré mi anzuelo en tus narices, y mi freno en tus labios, y yo te haré volver por el camino por donde viniste.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - 2 Kings 19:28
Verse 28. I will put my hook in thy nose] This seems to be an allusion to the method of guiding a buffalo; he has a sort of ring put into his nose, to which a cord or bridle is attached, by which he can be turned to the right, or to the left, or round about, according to the pleasure of his driver.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 20-34 - All Sennacherib's motions were under the Divine cognizance. God himsel undertakes to defend the city; and that person, that place, cannot but be safe, which he undertakes to protect. The invasion of the Assyrian probably had prevented the land from being sown that year. The next is supposed to have been the sabbatical year, but the Lord engaged tha the produce of the land should be sufficient for their support durin those two years. As the performance of this promise was to be after the destruction of Sennacherib's army, it was a sign to Hezekiah's faith assuring him of that present deliverance, as an earnest of the Lord' future care of the kingdom of Judah. This the Lord would perform, no for their righteousness, but his own glory. May our hearts be as goo ground, that his word may strike root therein, and bring forth fruit in our lives.
