Y Naamán dijo: Si quiere toma dos talentos. Y él le constriñó, y ató dos talentos de plata en dos sacos, y dos mudas de vestidos, y lo puso a cuestas a dos de sus criados, que lo llevasen delante de él.

Verse 23. He-bound two talents of silver] It required two servants to carry these two talents, for, according to the computation above, each talent was about 120lbs. weight.

Ver. 23. And Naaman said, be content , etc.] Or be pleased; do not object to it: take two talents : a talent for each young man, which amounted to between three hundred and four hundred pounds apiece: and he urged ; pressed him hard, insisted upon his taking them, who might pretend a great deal of modesty, and a strict regard to his master’s orders: and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments ; for each young man: and laid them upon two of his servants , the servants of Naaman, not choosing to burden Elisha’s servant with them; for such a quantity of money and clothes was pretty heavy: and they bare [them] before him ; both for his ease, and for his honour.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 20-27 - Naaman, a Syrian, a courtier, a soldier, had many servants, and we rea how wise and good they were. Elisha, a holy prophet, a man of God, ha but one servant, and he proves a base liar. The love of money, tha root of all evil, was at the bottom of Gehazi's sin. He thought to impose upon the prophet, but soon found that the Spirit of prophec could not be deceived, and that it was in vain to lie to the Holy Ghost. It is folly to presume upon sin, in hopes of secrecy. When tho goest aside into any by-path, does not thy own conscience go with thee Does not the eye of God go with thee? He that covers his sin, shall no prosper; particularly, a lying tongue is but for a moment. All the foolish hopes and contrivances of carnal worldlings are open befor God. It is not a time to increase our wealth, when we can only do it is such ways as are dishonourable to God and religion, or injurious to others. Gehazi was punished. If he will have Naaman's money, he shal have his disease with it. What was Gehazi profited, though he gaine two talents, when thereby he lost his health, his honour, his peace his service, and, if repentance prevented not, his soul for ever? Le us beware of hypocrisy and covetousness, and dread the curse of spiritual leprosy remaining on our souls __________________________________________________________________
