Treasury of Scriptural Knowledge VERSE (12) - Ps 25:21; 94:18
SEV Biblia, Chapter 41:12 En cuanto a mí, en mi integridad me has sustentado, y me has asentado delante de ti para siempre.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Psalms 40:12 Verse 12. Thou upholdest me ] I am still enabled to show that my heart was upright before God. Settest me before thy face for ever. ] Thou showest that thou dost approve of me: that I stand in thy presence, under the smiles of thy approbation. This also has been applied to our Lord, and considered as pointing out his mediatorial office at the right hand of God.
Verses 5-13 - We complain, and justly, of the want of sincerity, and that there is scarcely any true friendship to be found among men; but the former day were no better. One particularly, in whom David had reposed grea confidence, took part with his enemies. And let us not think i strange, if we receive evil from those we suppose to be friends. Have not we ourselves thus broken our words toward God? We eat of his brea daily, yet lift up the heel against him. But though we may not tak pleasure in the fall of our enemies, we may take pleasure in the makin vain their designs. When we can discern the Lord's favour in any mercy personal or public, that doubles it. If the grace of God did not tak constant care of us, we should not be upheld. But let us, while of earth, give heartfelt assent to those praises which the redeemed of earth and in heaven render to their God and Saviour __________________________________________________________________
