Y los hijos de Gad y los hijos de Rubén respondieron, diciendo: Haremos lo que el SEÑOR ha dicho a tus siervos.

Ver. 31. And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered , etc.], The word is in the singular number, and shows their unanimity, that they agreed to what Moses said, and replied all of them as one man, as Jarchi expresses it; and it may be there was one that was the mouth of them all, and answered for them: saying, as the Lord hath said unto thy servants, so will we do ; here they make use of the word Jehovah, taking what Moses had said unto them as from the Lord, and therefore should strictly and punctually observe it, as if they heard the Lord himself speak it.

Verses 28-42 - Concerning the settlement of these tribes, observe, that they built the cities, that is, repaired them. They changed the names of them probably they were idolatrous, therefore they should be forgotten. spirit of selfishness, of seeking our own, not the things of Christ when each one ought to assist others, is as dangerous as it is common It is impossible to be sincere in the faith, sensible of the goodnes of God, constrained by the love of Christ, sanctified by the power of the Holy Ghost, and yet be indifferent to the progress of religion, an the spiritual success of others, through love of ease, or fear of conflict. Let then your light so shine before men, that they may se your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven __________________________________________________________________
