Ex 6:6 De 4:34 Jer 15:15; 20:11,12 Lu 9:54-56; 22:49-51

SEV Biblia, Chapter 4:30

que extiendas tu mano a que sanidades, y milagros, y prodigios sean hechos por el Nombre de tu santo siervo Jess.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Acts 4:30

Verse 30. By stretching forth thine hand to
heal] Show that it is thy truth which we proclaim, and confirm it with miracles, and show how highly thou hast magnified thy Son Jesus, whom they have despised and crucified, by causing signs and wonders to be wrought in his name.

Thy holy child Jesus.] tou agiou paidov sou should be translated, thy holy SERVANT, as in ver. 25. dabid paidov sou, thy servant David, not thy CHILD David: the word is the same in both places.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 30. By stretching forth thine hand to heal , etc.] That is, by exerting his power in healing sicknesses, diseases, and lameness, as in the above instance, by the hands of the apostles; which, as it would be contrary to the schemes of the Jewish sanhedrim, and would confirm the doctrines of the Gospel; so it would animate the preachers of the word to preach it with more readiness, cheerfulness, and firmness of mind; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus ; as had been done already, and by whose name particularly the lame man at the temple had received a cure, and in whose name the sanhedrim had forbid the apostles to preach, or to make use of it, in doing any other miracle.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 23-31 -
Christ's followers do best in company, provided it is their ow company. It encourages God's servants, both in doing work, an suffering work, that they serve the God who made all things, an therefore has the disposal of all events; and the Scriptures must be fulfilled. Jesus was anointed to be a Saviour, therefore it wa determined he should be a sacrifice, to make atonement for sin. But sin is not the less evil for God's bringing good out of it. In threatenin times, our care should not be so much that troubles may be prevented as that we may go on with cheerfulness and courage in our work an duty. They do not pray, Lord let us go away from our work, now that it is become dangerous, but, Lord, give us thy grace to go on stedfastl in our work, and not to fear the face of man. Those who desire Divin aid and encouragement, may depend upon having them, and they ought to go forth, and go on, in the strength of the Lord God. God gave a sig of acceptance of their prayers. The place was shaken, that their fait might be established and unshaken. God gave them greater degrees of his Spirit; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, more than ever by which they were not only encouraged, but enabled to speak the wor of God with boldness. When they find the Lord God help them by his Spirit, they know they shall not be confounded, Isa 17.

Robertson's NT Word Studies

4:30 {While thou stretchest forth thy hand} (en twi ten ceira ekteinein se). Luke's favorite idiom, "In the stretching out (articular present active infinitive) the hand as to thee" (accusative of general reference), the second allusion to
God's "hand" in this prayer (verse #28). {To heal} (eis iasin). For healing. See verse #22. {And that signs and wonders may be done} (kai semeia kai terata ginesqai). Either to be taken as in the same construction as ekteinein with en twi as Revised Version has it here or to be treated as subordinate purpose to en twi ekteinein (as Knowling, Page, Wendt, Hackett). The latter most likely true. They ask for a visible sign or proof that God has heard this prayer for courage to be faithful even unto death.
