SEV Biblia, Chapter 14:13
Y Moisés dijo al pueblo: No temáis; estaos quietos, y ved la salud del SEÑOR, que él hará hoy con vosotros; porque los egipcios que hoy habéis visto, nunca más para siempre los veréis.
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Exodus 14:13
Verse 13. Moses said-Fear ye not] This exhortation was not given to excite them to resist, for of that there was no hope; they were unarmed, they had no courage, and their minds were deplorably degraded. Stand still - Ye shall not be even workers together with God; only be quiet, and do not render yourselves wretched by your fears and your confusion.
See the salvation of the Lord] Behold the deliverance which God will work, independently of all human help and means.
Ye shall see them again no more] Here was strong faith, but this was accompanied by the spirit of prophecy. God showed Moses what he would do, he believed, and therefore he spoke in the encouraging manner related above.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 10-14 - There was no way open to Israel but upward, and thence their deliverance came. We may be in the way of duty, following God, an hastening toward heaven, yet may be troubled on every side. Some crie out unto the Lord; their fear led them to pray, and that was well. God brings us into straits, that he may bring us to our knees. Others crie out against Moses; fear set them murmuring as if God were not stil able to work miracles. They quarrel with Moses for bringing them out of Egypt; and so were angry with God for the greatest kindness ever don them; thus gross are the absurdities of unbelief. Moses says, Fear y not. It is always our duty and interest, when we cannot get out of troubles, yet to get above our fears; let them quicken our prayers an endeavours, but not silence our faith and hope. "Stand still," thin not to save yourselves either by fighting or flying; wait God's orders and observe them. Compose yourselves, by confidence in God, int peaceful thoughts of the great salvation God is about to work for you If God brings his people into straits, he will find a way to bring the out.
