SEV Biblia, Chapter 2:31
Mas los siervos de David hirieron de los de Benjamín y de los de Abner, trescientos sesenta hombres, que murieron. Tomaron luego a Asael, y lo sepultaron en el sepulcro de su padre en Belén.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 31. But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and Abner’s men , etc.] Of those of the tribe of Benjamin that joined him, and of those that he brought with him from Mahanaim; so many of them were smitten, as appeared by their bodies lying on the field of battle, [so that] three hundred and threescore men died ; the number of the slain on each side was very unequal.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 25-32 - Abner appeals to Joab concerning the miserable consequences of a civi war. Those who make light of such unnatural contests, will find tha they are bitterness to all concerned. How easy it is for men to us reason, when it makes for them, who would not use it, if it mad against them! See how the issue of things alter men's minds! The sam thing which looked pleasant in the morning, at night looked dismal Those who are most forward to enter into contention, will repent befor they have done with it, and had better leave it off before it be meddled with, as Solomon advises. This is true of every sin, oh tha men would consider it in time, that it will be bitterness in the latte end! Asahel's funeral is here mentioned. Distinctions are made betwee the dust of some and that of others; but in the resurrection n difference will be made, but between the godly and ungodly, which wil remain for ever __________________________________________________________________
