King James Bible - Genesis 24:45

And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.

World English Bible

Before I had finished speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder. She went down to the spring, and drew. I said to her, 'Please let me drink.'

Douay-Rheims - Genesis 24:45

And whilst I pondered these things secretly with myself, Rebecca appeared coming with a pitcher, which she carried on her shoulder: and she went down to the well and drew water. And I said to her: Give me a little to drink.

Webster's Bible Translation

And before I had done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down to the well, and drew water: and I said to her, Let me drink, I pray thee.

SEV Biblia, Chapter 24:45

Y antes que acabase de hablar en mi corazón, he aquí Rebeca, que salía con su cántaro sobre su hombro; y descendió a la fuente, y sacó agua; y yo le dije: Te ruego que me des a beber.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Genesis 24:45

Verse 45. Before I had done speaking in mine heart] So we find that the whole of this prayer, so circumstantially related Genesis xxiv. 12-14, and again ver. 42-44, was mental, and heard only by that
God to whom it was directed. It would have been improper to have used public prayer on the occasion, as his servants could have felt no particular interest in the accomplishment of his petitions, because they were not concerned in them, having none of the responsibility of this mission.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 29-53 - The making up of the
marriage between Isaac and Rebekah is told very particularly. We are to notice God's providence in the common events of human life, and in them to exercise prudence and other graces. Laba went to ask Abraham's servant in, but not till he saw the ear-ring, an bracelet upon his sister's hands. We know Laban's character, by his conduct afterwards, and may think that he would not have been so fre to entertain him, if he had not hoped to be well rewarded for it. The servant was intent upon his business. Though he was come off a journey and come to a good house, he would not eat till he had told his errand The doing our work, and the fulfilling our trusts, either for God or man, should be preferred by us before our food: it was our Saviour' meat and drink, Joh 4:34. He tells them the charge his master had give him, with the reason of it. He relates what had happened at the well to further the proposal, plainly showing the finger of God in it. Thos events which to us seem the effect of choice, contrivance, or chance are "appointed out" of God. This hinders not, but rather encourages the use of all proper means. They freely and cheerfully close with the proposal; and any matter is likely to be comfortable, when it proceed from the Lord. Abraham's servant thankfully acknowledges the goo success he had met with. He was a humble man, and humble men are no ashamed to own their situation in life, whatever it may be. All ou temporal concerns are sweet if intermixed with godliness.
