King James Bible - Job 30:5

They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief;)

World English Bible

They are driven out from the midst of men. They cry after them as after a thief;

Douay-Rheims - Job 30:5

Who snatched up these things out of the valleys, and when they had found any of them, they ran to them with a cry.

Webster's Bible Translation

They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them, as after a thief;)

SEV Biblia, Chapter 30:5

Eran echados de entre los hombres , y todos les daban gritos como al ladrón.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Job 30:5

Verse 5. They were driven forth ] They were persons whom no one would employ; they were driven away from the city; and if any of them appeared, the hue and
cry was immediately raised up against them. The last clause Mr. Good translates, "They slunk away from them like a thief," instead of "They cried after them," &c.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 1-14 - Job contrasts his present condition with his former honour an
authority. What little cause have men to be ambitious or proud of tha which may be so easily lost, and what little confidence is to be put in it! We should not be cast down if we are despised, reviled, and hate by wicked men. We should look to Jesus, who endured the contradictio of sinners.
