SEV Biblia, Chapter 7:4
Di a la sabiduría: Tú eres mi hermana; y a la inteligencia llama parienta,
Clarke's Bible Commentary - Proverbs 7:4
Verse 4. Thou art my sister ] Thou art my dearest friend, and I will treat thee as such.
John Gill's Bible Commentary
Ver. 4. Say unto wisdom, Thou art [my] sister , etc.] Intimately acquainted, greatly beloved, and highly delighted in: this may be understood both of the Gospel, the wisdom of God in a mystery, which men should be conversant with, be strongly affected to, and take delight and pleasure in; and of Christ, the essential Wisdom of God, and who stands in the relation of a brother to his people, and should be respected as such; and call understanding [thy] kinswoman ; or “kinsman” f169 ; such Christ is in our nature, our “goel”, our near kinsman, partaker of the same flesh and blood, and therefore is not ashamed to call us brethren, nor should we be ashamed to call him kinsman: moreover, his Word and Gospel, and the understanding of it, should be familiar to us; it should be well “known” f170 by us, as the word used signifies, and dwell richly in us.
Matthew Henry Commentary
Verses 1-5 - We must lay up God's commandments safely. Not only, Keep them, and yo shall live; but, Keep them as those that cannot live without them Those that blame strict and careful walking as needless and to precise, consider not that the law is to be kept as the apple of the eye; indeed the law in the heart is the eye of the soul. Let the wor of God dwell in us, and so be written where it will be always at han to be read. Thus we shall be kept from the fatal effects of our ow passions, and the snares of Satan. Let God's word confirm our dread of sin, and resolutions against it.
