Mt 13:57 Mr 6:4 Lu 4:24

SEV Biblia, Chapter 4:44

Porque el mismo Jess dio testimonio de que un profeta en su tierra no tiene honra.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - John 4:44

Verse 44.
Jesus himself testified] He bore testimony to the general truth of the following proverb. See on Matt. xiii. 57.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 44. For
Jesus himself testified , etc.] ( Matthew 13:57); that a prophet hath no honour in his own country : all the Oriental versions read, in his own city; that is, Nazareth: for these words must not be understood as a reason why Christ left Judea, and went into Galilee, because he had no honour in Judea, in which was Bethlehem, the place of his nativity; but are a reason why, when he came into Galilee, he did not go to Nazareth, his own city, where he was educated, and had been brought up, and had lived the greatest part of his life, because they treated him with great disrespect and contempt; (see Gill on Matthew 13:57).

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 43-54 - The
father was a nobleman, yet the son was sick. Honours and titles ar no security from sickness and death. The greatest men must go themselves to God, must become beggars. The nobleman did not stop from his request till he prevailed. But at first he discovered the weaknes of his faith in the power of Christ. It is hard to persuade ourselve that distance of time and place, are no hinderance to the knowledge mercy, and power of our Lord Jesus. Christ gave an answer of peace Christ's saying that the soul lives, makes it alive. The father wen his way, which showed the sincerity of his faith. Being satisfied, he did not hurry home that night, but returned as one easy in his ow mind. His servants met him with the news of the child's recovery. Goo news will meet those that hope in God's word. Diligent comparing the works of Jesus with his word, will confirm our faith. And the bringin the cure to the family brought salvation to it. Thus an experience of the power of one word of Christ, may settle the authority of Christ is the soul. The whole family believed likewise. The miracle made Jesu dear to them. The knowledge of Christ still spreads through families and men find health and salvation to their souls __________________________________________________________________
