SEV Biblia, Chapter 2:23

(Como est escrito en la ley del Seor: Todo varn que abriere la matriz, ser santo al Seor),

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 21-24 - Our
Lord Jesus was not born in sin, and did not need that mortificatio of a corrupt nature, or that renewal unto holiness, which wer signified by circumcision. This ordinance was, in his case, a pledge of his future perfect obedience to the whole law, in the midst of sufferings and temptations, even unto death for us. At the end of fort days, Mary went up to the temple to offer the appointed sacrifices for her purification. Joseph also presented the holy child Jesus, because as a first-born son, he was to be presented to the Lord, and redeeme according to the law. Let us present our children to the Lord who gav them to us, beseeching him to redeem them from sin and death, and make them holy to himself.

Vincent's NT Word Studies

23. The law of the
Lord. The word law occurs in this chapter five times; oftener than in all the rest of this Gospel put together. Luke emphasizes the fact that Jesus "was made under the law" (Gal. iv. 4), and accordingly elaborates the details of the fulfilment of the law by the parents of both John and Jesus.

Robertson's NT Word Studies

2:23 {In the law of the
Lord} (en nomwi kuriou). No articles, but definite by preposition and genitive. Vincent notes that "law" occurs in this chapter five times. Paul (#Gal 4:4) will urge that Jesus "was made under the law" as Luke here explains. The law did not require that the child be brought to Jerusalem. The purification concerned the mother, the presentation the son.
