2Ki 1:8 Isa 59:17 Mt 3:4 1Pe 3:3,4

SEV Biblia, Chapter 7:25

Mas ¿qu salisteis a ver? ¿Un hombre cubierto de vestidos delicados? He aquí, los que estn en vestido precioso, y viven en delicias, en los palacios de los reyes estn.
Adam Clarke's Bible Commentary-28

Verse 22-28. See these verses explained at large on Matthew xi. 4-15.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 25. But what went you out for to see ? etc.] If not his air and action, what was it? was it his apparel and dress? was it to see a man clothed in soft raiment? If this was the case, their labour was in vain, and they had their walk for nothing; for John was clothed with camels' hair, rough and undressed, and was girt with a leathern girdle; there was nothing in his person, mien, and garb, that was attractive: they which are gorgeously, apparelled ; or richly clothed, as John was not: and live delicately ; in the most elegant manner, and on the richest dainties, as John did not, his food being locusts and wild honey: are in kings' courts ; and not in a wilderness, where John; came preaching.

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 19-35 - To his
miracles in the kingdom of nature, Christ adds this in the kingdom of grace, To the poor the gospel is preached. It clearl pointed out the spiritual nature of Christ's kingdom, that the messenger he sent before him to prepare his way, did it by preachin repentance and reformation of heart and life. We have here the jus blame of those who were not wrought upon by the ministry of Joh Baptist or of Jesus Christ himself. They made a jest of the methods God took to do them good. This is the ruin of multitudes; they are no serious in the concerns of their souls. Let us study to prove ourselve children of Wisdom, by attending the instructions of God's word, an adoring those mysteries and glad tidings which infidels and Pharisee deride and blaspheme.

Vincent's NT Word Studies

25. Gorgeously apparelled (en imatismw endoxw). Lit., in splendid clothing.

Live delicately (trufh uparcontev). Lit., are in luxury. On uJparcontev, are, see on Jas. ii. 15. On trufh, luxury, see on 2 Peter ii. 13, the only other place where it occurs. Compare the kindred verb trufaw, to live in luxury, Jas. v. 5.

Kings' courts (basileioiv). Only here in New Testament. Often rendered palaces. Sometimes, in later Greek, applied to a capital or royal city, a royal treasury, and a royal diadem.

Robertson's NT Word Studies

7:25 {Gorgeously apparelled} (en himatismwi endoxwi). In splendid clothing. Here alone in this sense in the N.T. {And live delicately} (trufei). From qruptw to break down, to enervate, an old word for luxurious living. See the verb trufaw in #Jas 5:5. {In kings' courts} (en tois basileiois). Only here in the N.T. #Mt 11:8 has it "in kings' houses." Verses #26,27 are precisely alike in #Mt 11:9,10, which see for discussion.
