SEV Biblia, Chapter 10:37

Y ellos le dijeron: Danos que en tu gloria nos sentemos el uno a tu diestra, y el otro a tu siniestra.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Mark 10:37

Verse 37. In thy
glory.] In the kingdom of thy glory-three MSS. Which kingdom they expected to be established on earth.

And be baptized] OR, be baptized. Instead of kai and h or, is the reading of BCDL, five others, Coptic, Armenian, later Syriac in the margin, Vulgate, all the Itala, and Origen. See the note on Matt. xx. 22.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 37. They said unto him , etc..] By their mother, or seconding her motion: grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory ; or glorious kingdom, which they expected would be quickly set up; and which they might conclude from his having lately promised to all the twelve, that when he should sit on his throne, they should sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel; and from his having just now mentioned his rising from the dead, which they might understand of some revival, or breaking forth of this glorious state; (see Gill on “ Matthew 20:21”).

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 32-45 -
Christ's going on with his undertaking for the salvation of mankind was, is, and will be, the wonder of all his disciples. Worldly honou is a glittering thing, with which the eyes of Christ's own disciple have many times been dazzled. Our care must be, that we may have wisdo and grace to know how to suffer with him; and we may trust him to provide what the degrees of our glory shall be. Christ shows them tha dominion was generally abused in the world. If Jesus would gratify all our desires, it would soon appear that we desire fame or authority, an are unwilling to taste of his cup, or to have his baptism; and shoul often be ruined by having our prayers answered. But he loves us, an will only give his people what is good for them.

Robertson's NT Word Studies

10:37 {In thy
glory} (en tei doxei). #Mt 20:21 has "in thy kingdom." See on ¯Mt 20:20 for the literal interpretation of #Mt 19:28. They are looking for a grand Jewish world empire with apocalyptic features in the eschatological culmination of the Messiah's kingdom. That dream brushed aside all the talk of Jesus about his death and resurrection as mere pessimism.
