VERSE (7) -
:1 Ex 12:6,18 Mt 26:17 Mr 14:12

SEV Biblia, Chapter 22:7

¶ Y vino el día de los panes sin levadura, en el cual era necesario matar el cordero de la pascua.

Clarke's Bible Commentary - Luke 22:7

Verse 7. The
passover] pasca, ver. 1, is the name of the festival; to pasca here is supposed to be the name of that on which they feasted, viz.

the sacrificed paschal lamb. But see the notes on Matt. 26, and especially the observations at the end of that chapter.

John Gill's Bible Commentary

Ver. 7. Then came the day of unleavened bread , etc.] The first of them, the fourteenth day of the month Nisan: when the passover must be killed ; that is, the passover lamb, as the Persic version renders it; and which, according to the law in ( Exodus 12:6) was to be done between the two evenings; (see Gill on Matthew 26:17).

Matthew Henry Commentary

Verses 7-18 -
Christ kept the ordinances of the law, particularly that of the passover, to teach us to observe his gospel institutions, and most of all that of the Lord's supper. Those who go upon Christ's word, nee not fear disappointment. According to the orders given them, the disciples got all ready for the passover. Jesus bids this passove welcome. He desired it, though he knew his sufferings would follow because it was in order to his Father's glory and man's redemption. He takes his leave of all passovers, signifying thereby his doing away all the ordinances of the ceremonial law, of which the passover was one of the earliest and chief. That type was laid aside, because now in the kingdom of God the substance was come.

Robertson's NT Word Studies

22:7 {The day of
unleavened bread came} (elqen he hemera twn azumwn). The day itself came, not simply was drawing nigh (verse #1). {Must be sacrificed} (edei quesqai). this was Nisan 14 which began at sunset. Luke is a Gentile and this fact must be borne in mind. The lamb must be slain by the head of the family (#Ex 12:6). The controversy about the day when Christ ate the last passover meal has already been discussed (#Mt 26:17; Mr 14:12). The Synoptics clearly present this as a fact. Jesus was qen crucified on Friday at the passover or Thursday (our time) at the regular hour 6 P.M. (beginning of Friday). The five passages in John (#13:1f.; 13:27; 18:28; 19:14; 19:31) rightly interpreted teach the same thing as shown in my _Harmony of the Gospels for Students of the Life of Christ_ (pp.279-284).
